The material comprise of her personal correspondence, columns from a number of newspapers, correspondence of her participation in The Morning Show program and photographs that were used in her newspaper columns.

The Lois Sagel Papers on Nevada Wilderness Preservation (1989-1995) consist of the papers of Lois Sagel, an environmentalist and advocate for the preservation of Nevada's wilderness. The collection primarily documents the campaigns surrounding the efforts to expand Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area (1994) as well as to designate the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area (1993). Additionally, it contains information on minor land exchanges and the Question 5/S.B. 189 bond issue to fund state parks (considered in 1989 and 1990). Most of the collection is comprised of newspaper clippings, correspondence, memoranda, photographs, and photo slides.

The Soroptimist International of Greater Las Vegas and Paradise Valley Records document the activity of two Las Vegas, Nevada chapters of the women's advocacy group Soroptimist International from 1968 to 2000. The records contain membership information, by-laws, correspondence, scrapbooks, publications, memoranda, and ephemera about women's issues, environmental concerns, and the club's activities in the Greater Las Vegas and Paradise Valley chapters. The records also contain information from conferences held by Soroptimist International, including audio cassette recordings of speeches and presentations.

The collection comprises personal papers of Pat van Betten that document her work with the League of Women Voters and the Nevada Nurses Association from 1985 to 2011. Van Betten worked on health care reform for the League of Women Voters - Las Vegas which resulted in the passage of the pioneering legislation known as the Patient Protection Act. The health-care reform material dates from 1997 to 2006 and includes documents related to the Act as well as correspondence, printed e-mail, meeting minutes, plans, and other supporting material. The collection also documents van Betten's work with the Nevada Nurses Association -- Las Vegas Chapter, and documents conferences of the Nevada Nurses Association, as well as material celebrating the history of nursing in Nevada. These materials date 1985 - 2006 and include a filmstrip with slides focusing on the work of school nurses in the Clark County School District.

Collection consists of a typescript account of her experiences from her childhood in England, crossing the Atlantic to the United States, and her trek to the West. Significant because of its vivid description of her time at the Mormon Fort in ca. 1854 including the crops planted, relations with the local Paiute Indians, construction of the buildings etc. Her husband was one of the original Mormon settlers called to develop the settlement at Las Vegas.

Collection is comprised of the papers of Aaron Williams, North Las Vegas City Councilman and Clark County Commissioner. Consists mainly of material from scrapbooks and newspaper clippings chronicling Williams' political career and the issues he dealt with. Issues included are those related to community and infrastructure development, such as airports, sewage treatment plants, senior citizens, health, and urban planning, as well as local government activities during the late 1960's and early 1970's. The remainder of the materials in the collection consist primarily of correspondence from 1966-1976, various certificates, and a very limited number of items pertaining to affirmative action programs and the organization "Poor People Pulling Together."

Williams, Claudine

Collection is comprised of mateirals documenting the life of noted Las Vegas gaming pioneer and philanthropist, Claudine Williams. Williams and her husband Shelby bought the Silver Slipper Casino in the in 1960s, selling it to Howard Hughes in 1969. They used the profits to build the Holiday Casino on the Las Vegas Strip, and when her husband died in 1977, Williams became the first woman casino president and general manager in Nevada history. The company was later purchased by Harrah's and for many years Williams served as chairwoman of Harrah's Las Vegas. She was the first woman inducted into the Gaming Hall of Fame. The collection is comprised of photographs, clippings, documents, programs, artwork, awards, plaques, trophies and other artifacts related to her career in gaming and philanthropy in Las Vegas. Las Vegas Chapter Records consist of scrapbooks, photo albums, and attendance record journals from the Women’s Auxiliary #1213 and Retired Eagles Activities Club (REAC) #1213 from 1950 to 2001. The scrapbooks contain newspaper articles, photographs, memos, and state and national F.O.E. convention information pertaining to the Las Vegas chapter of the F.O.E. The REAC folder contains information about the founding of the REAC chapter in 1984, the constitution, bylaws, charter, and founding members. The REAC attendance record journals contain listings of members as well as meeting minutes.
