Collection consists of four typewritten essays, a manuscript about Utah entitled "History of Grazing," and a photo of Grace W. Byrne. A note with this collection indicates that Grace Winkleman Byrne wrote for the Las Vegas Sun, Las Vegas Review Journal, and the Henderson Pages, and that she founded the Henderson Chamber of Commerce.

Collection consists of scrapbooks containing the complete run of Al Cahlan's "Where I Sit" newspaper column that he wrote for the Las Vegas Review Journal from 1930 to 1968. Al (A.E.) Cahlan was the editor of the Las Vegas Review Journal for many years and active in the Nevada Democratic Party. He was also active in Las Vegas civic and community affairs.

This collection contains the family papers of Las Vegas pioneers Charles "Pop" Squires (editor of the Las Vegas Age and member of the Colorado River Commission) and his wife, Delphine, who helped found Christ Church Episcopal and the Mesquite Club. The Squires Papers concentrate on the Las Vegas years (1905- 1964), although there is some material from earlier periods. The Civic interests series contains miscellaneous items relating to early life in Las Vegas (1905-1958). The Manuscripts series contains book and short story manuscripts, articles, press releases and radio scripts written by Squires and his wife. The Correspondence series reflects the period 1910-1958 (many letters relating to his work on the CRC including some from President Herbert Hoover) with a few items dated earlier. The Family series contains items related to family life such as report cards, certificates, Parent Teacher Association, club activities, news clippings, and church activities. These items cover the years 1887- 1951.

Collection is comprised of the papers of Las Vegas journalist Sherwin "Scoop" The Sherwin "Scoop" Garside Papers comprise photographs and documents of Las Vegas Review-Journal writer and photographer Scoop Garside. The collection dates from 1930 to 1983 and includes publicity photos of the Old Spanish Trail, correspondence from the Nevada State Centennial Commission, history of mines (Tonopah, Goldfield, Bullfrog), copies of articles written by Garside, family photos and general photographs of people and places, negatives of Las Vegas, Nevada; Searchlight, Nevada; St. George, Utah; and several unlabeled negatives.

The Ellen B. Jensen papers comprise the research notes, drafts with edits, carbons, and articles written by the Las Vegas, Nevada journalist Ellen Jensen who was the editor of and writer for the monthly Las Vegas Review Journal Jr. and writer for the Las Vegas Sun ("Sunday Scene") and Las Vegas Review Journal ("The Nevadan") from 1966 to 1969. Jensen wrote about many topics of interest to Las Vegans, including travel and recreation in southern Nevada, hotel and casino administration and construction, and local nightlife and entertainment.

Collection is comprised of materials from the estate of former Lieutenant Governor and gaming executive Cliff Jones. Includes photographs, plaques, correspondence, trophies. The Las Vegas Bugle Collection on Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual History (1984-2002) consists of correspondence, newsclippings, and ephemera chronicling issues of the lesbian, gay, and bisexual communities in Nevada. In addition to records of the gay newspaper, the Las Vegas Bugle, the collection also contains documents pertaining to the founding of the Gay Community Service Center of Las Vegas, Nevada, Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG), and local political campaigns.

The National League of American Pen Women (NLAPW) brings women interested in the arts together for professional development, networking, and social activities. In 1951, Lucile Spire Bruner led efforts for the founding of the Las Vegas branch. The scrapbooks include meeting minutes, newspaper clippings, correspondence, and photographs.

The Ruthe Deskin Papers document the career of Nevada journalist and youth activist Ruthe Deskin from 1950 to 2004. The papers include newspaper articles, award certificates, photographs, and legal documents that illustrate Deskin's five decades of work in journalism and in the Las Vegas, Nevada community. As personal assistant to the editor of the Las Vegas Sun, Deskin regularly published a column called "Back and Forth," and she also served as the President of the Las Vegas Press Club and Nevada State Press Association.

The collection also includes publications and records documenting the Nevada State Dairy Commission and the Las Vegas hospitality industry. The Video Recordings series consists mainly of episodes of the Muriel Stevens Show.

This collection is comprised of the personal papers of noted Las Vegas entertainment writer, producer, and critic Bill Willard, which date from 1887 to 1999. It contains material on his father's theater and political involvements as well as Willard's early childhood and high school years. His time in the United States Army is chronicled by the editorials and correspondence he wrote. His papers trace his continued involvement in writing, entertainment, and art which culminated in his direction of the Arnold Shaw Popular Music Research Center. The collection also includes pictures of his artwork, articles he wrote for various newspapers and magazines, scripts, skits, jokes, awards, over 700 interviews done for the "Rap with the Artist" series, and personal memorabilia.
