The collection consists of the papers of Donn Arden, choreographer, producer and director known for creating extravagant production shows that combined spectacular scenery and disaster with sequined and feathered showgirls. The collection documents Arden's sixty plus years in entertainment working in showrooms all over the world from Paris to Las Vegas and New York to Los Angeles from the 1930s to the 1990s. Comprised of production notes, programs, photographs, posters, sheet music, correspondence, costume design sketches, press clippings and magazine articles, the collection documents Arden's work in a variety of nightclubs and on large production shows. In addition to documenting Arden's work and life in show business, the collection provides insight into the planning and execution of the production show, a genre of entertainment that has largely disappeared over the years, and of which Arden was thought to be the undisputed master. As many of Arden's shows were featured in Las Vegas, the collection also serves to document that fabled golden era of Las Vegas entertainment of the 1950s-1960s, and provides insight into how perceptions of the Las Vegas showgirl have evolved over the years.

Collection is comprised of the personal papers of Las Vegas show producer Bill Moore and includes costume designs, programs, photographs, sheet music, production notes, correspondence, set designs, music tapes and more of his many production shows (co-produced with partner George Arnold) which included City Lites (Flamingo), Nudes on Ice (Plaza Hotel) and Spice on Ice (Hacienda) among others. Many of the costume and set designs were done by long-time collaborator and designer, Lloyd Lampert of Hollywood.

It changed ownership in 1993, and reopened on September 3, 1993 as a gay nightclub and closed early in 1995. The collection contains policy documents, building plans, and promotional and publicity materials, as well as artifacts, including waiter uniforms from the nightclub.

Collection is comprised of the personal and business papers of Wilbur and Toni Clark. Wilbur Clark was owner of the luxurious Desert Inn Casino/Hotel that opened in 1950. The small collection includes correspondence to Clark from a number of celebrities such as the Duchess of Windsor and the Kennedys. There is also a scrapbook, and newspaper clippings, and a number of 16 mm films that feature Clark and his wife Toni at the Desert Inn. A related photo collection contains over three hundred photographs of the Desert Inn in the 1950s.

The Dottie Dee Dancers Collection (1940s-2002) is comprised of newspaper clippings and photographs documenting the career of Dorothy (Dalton) Tomlin, who led a line of dancers known as the Dottie Dee Dancers in the 1940s and 1950s. The dancers performed in nightclubs in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco and other cities in the western United States. Other items in the collection include original costume drawings by Hollywood costume designer Lloyd Lambert for costumes that were created for the Dottie Dee Dancers, and the transcript of an oral history interview with Dottie and her husband, Donald Tomlin.

Collection was consciously created and developed as a corporate archives by Harrah's corporate communications department and includes extensive promotional, entertainment and financial publications and files, and hundreds of photographs documenting the history and growth of the company, the construction and openings of its resort complexes, it's operations, and the people who worked and performed at Harrah's. The collection also contains a complete set of Harrah's employee magazine Harrah-scope, from 1955, as well as corporate annual reports, newspaper clippings, advertising copy and designs, film, and videotape. There is extensive material about Bill Harrah himself, his large antique car collection, a collection of historic playing cards, as well as a large assortment of promotional items from the openings of various Harrah's properties, and personal and corporate mementos.
