Transgender woman Suzanne Lindley Daly (formerly, Tim Daly) in the mid-1980s fought the Nevada and federal legal systems to retain parental rights over her natural daughter, Mary. Daly v Daly set precedent, was forever after cited as bad case law, and resonated beyond transgender issues to include both racism and homophobia. Collection is comprised of material that documents Tim Dalyís divorce and name change as he transitioned from male to female; the Nevada Second Judicial Court case; the Nevada Supreme Court and U. S. Supreme Court cases; as well as a civil rights violation action Suzanne Daly filed in the Ninth U. S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
