Your library-validated RebelCard allows you to check out scores, DVDs, and compact discs at the Music Library. There are no limits on the number of scores you can check out. Compact discs are limited to 5 at a time. For assistance, ask at the Music Library Service Desk. Loan periods for materials for all Undergraduate Students are as follows:

Checked out materials are subject to recall by other students, faculty, and staff. Fines for overdue scores are $0.25 per day per score. Fines for overdue compact discs are $2.00 per day per item. Students are also responsible for Recall, Interlibrary Loan, and Reserve Fines. Recall are $5.00 per day per item, LINK+ and Interlibrary Loan fines are $1.00 per day per item. Reserve fines vary. There are no other fines. Scores can be renewed online provided there are no outstanding fines in excess of $5.00. Scores can be returned to the Music Library, any of the library locations on campus, or in the book drops located across campus. Please return DVDs and compact discs to the Music Library Service Desk.

To borrow items from other libraries that we do not own, there are two options: Link+ and Interlibrary Loan. Link+ is suggested for scores.

Music Library Collections and Research AssistanceReturn to Top

The Music Library contains over 30,000 scores, nearly 10,000 compact discs, approximately 1,200 DVDs, and a small reference collection. In addition, the Libraries have about 200 electronic indexes and databases that can be used for research purposes and to find journal articles in all subject areas. Many of these resources provide full-text information online. Those most pertinent to music are listed in our Music Research page. You may use your personal laptop system with UNLV's wireless system in the Music Library.

General information and research assistance is available at the Music Library Service Desk. Contact the Music Librarian at 895-2549 for specialized research consultation or to suggest materials for the music collection. Teaching Assistants may also request instruction sessions for their classes by contacting the Music Librarian.

A Group listening/viewing seminar room is available in the Music Library for groups up to six. This room is a wifi spot, and has viewing/listening capabilities through our A/V System and a white board to facilitate group discussions/projects.
