University Libraries' copy of "Rembrandt: The Master & His Workshop" was rebound by the Preservation/Conservation Laboratory. What makes this title special? It represents the first leather re-binding for our lab. In this case, the book was bound in black leather, with gold lettering. In the past, our Lab has typically used book cloth in our re-bindings. Of course, we will still continue to use book cloth for most items. But, this work represents a step forward, in offering an elevated level of skill and service, in preserving our collections.
