Michael Frazier, UNLV Libraries Conservator, attended the annual conference of the Society of American Archivists (SAA) in Austin Texas; August 11-16, 2009.

As President of the Conference of Inter-Mountain Archivists (CIMA), he represented the region at the "Issues and Advocacy Roundtable".
During this national event, he reported on the devastating effects the economic crisis has had on the regional archival collections. He presented various ideas and strategies for helping local institutions during these troubled times. For example, CIMA is will be providing extra grants to it's members to attend conferences.

In addition, CIMA had it's table-top exhibit at the SAA Conference, and Frazier manned the table for several hours over a 4 day period.
While greeting people, he introduced people to CIMA, UNLV, and the Preservation Program.
