Preservation Open House

When: Saturday, Apr. 27, 2013, 2pm - 5pm
Campus Location: Lied Library, Third Floor
Admission Information: This event is free and open to the public.

UNLV Libraries and other institutions use "Preservation Week" to connect our communities through events, activities, and resources that highlight what we can do, individually and together, to preserve our personal and shared collections. For this important national event, UNLV Libraries will be holding a Preservation Week Open House, and you are invited.

Rare Book Collecting
Panel Discussion

2:00-4:00 pm

This year's focus is on "Rare Book Collecting" and our experts' panel will share stories and experiences about working with rare books.
The panel discussion will include:

  • Peter Michel, Head of Exhibits, University Libraries
    "UNLV's Rare Book Collection in Special Collections"


  • Rebecca Romney, Manager, Bauman Rare Books
    " Introduction to Rare Books & the Rare Book Market
    "

  • Michael Frazier, conservator, University Libraries
    " Preservation Issues:  Keeping Your Collection Safe"

Note:
Campus Parking is NOT enforced on Saturdays. Ample parking is generally available near the Lied Library on weekends, on a first-come, first-served basis. Handicapped and reserved parking spaces are always enforced. Parking instructions have been provided for your convienance.


Also, visit the Special Collections Booth at the Festival of Communities. We will be promoting our collections and National Preservation Week.
