History of Nevada, State Government

Collections

The State Archives program preserves the records that document the history of Nevada State government dating back to 1851. It has custody over the historical records of the territory and state as defined in state statute, representing the three branches of government. There are more than 10,000 cubic feet of territorial and state government records and over 10,000 images of Nevada people and places, providing visual information that complements the Archives' documentation of Nevada history. Nevada Governors' Executive Records, 1861-1999 Nevada Supreme Court Cases, 1863-1936 Nevada Surveyor General Records, 1865-1935 Biennial Reports of Nevada State Officers, Commissions and Agencies, 1865-1977. Records of the Adjutant General, 1862-1977 Records of the Gaming Control Board, 1955-1992.
