Frazier taught school in Nevada from 1906 to 1946. She was elected to the State Legislature in 1950 and was later appointed Lieutenant Governor of Nevada, the highest position ever held by a woman in the state. She was also instrumental in establishing UNLV in its early days as Nevada Southern University. After moving to Nevada, she taught throughout the state. She also served as principal in several schools and was appointed Deputy State Superintendent of Public Instruction, and Superintendent of Schools. After her retirement from teaching, Frazier was elected to the Nevada State Assembly for six terms and was appointed Lieutenant Governor, the first woman to serve in the position. Frazier was also instrumental in the establishment of the Nevada Southern University campus, which evolved into UNLV; she had a building on the campus named in her honor. She died in 1963.</p><p>Additional biographical information can also be obtained in the Special Collections biographical files, as well as an autobiography.</p></bioghist><scopecontent encodinganalog="520"><head>Scope and Content</head>
