For small business patrons, the majority of research will involve using library databases as well as books, magazines, and journals.

Library Databases

 Use these databases to search for information related to starting and running a small business. As clients of the Southern Nevada Small Business Development Center, you have free remote access to these library databases.

Books, Magazines, & Journals

Browse through a listing of librarian recommended books, magazines, and journals about starting and running a small business.

Books in Lied Library are located in several areas including Reference, Government Documents and UNLV Bookstacks.

Reference is located on the 1st Floor behind the Research & Information desk. Materials in Reference cannot be checked out, however, you can copy pages using copy machines on the 1st Floor.

Government Documents are located on the 2nd Floor and can be checked out (most cases).

UNLV Bookstacks are located on the 3rd, 4th and 5th floors. All of these items can be checked out.

Magazines and Journals are located on the 2nd Floor in Periodicals.

UNLV Libraries has a large selection of books related to starting and managing a small business. These books may be found in call number sections HD62, HD69.5, HD2333, HD2346, HD8036, and HF5356. All of these call numbers are located in the UNLV Bookstacks on the 3rd Floor.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Directions
Lied Library is located on the UNLV campus at the end of Harmon Avenue (East) off of Swenson between Tropicana and Flamingo.

Parking
Library patrons have two options for parking at Lied Library. Metered parking spaces are available on Harmon Avenue next to the Library. There are also metered parking spaces behind the library. To access the back parking spaces, from Harmon turn right on the road directly before the library building.

Accessing Library Resources
Lied Library allows public access to library resources. Public patrons can obtain a "Special Borrowers Card" at the Circulation desk on the 1st Floor. To obtain the card, you will need to present a photo ID and current credit card. The "Special Borrowers Card" is free of charge and allows a public user to check out up to three books.
