Wireless Availability

The UNLV Libraries are pleased to add Lied Library, the Curriculum Materials Library, and the Music Library to the list of fully wireless locations on campus. The Architecture Studies Library participated in a successful pilot project for wireless in 2004 and has offered it since that time. The addition of wireless access to the Libraries was made possible through the combined efforts and financial resources of the Office of Information Technology and the University Libraries. At present, the wireless network is available to all University of Nevada, Las Vegas students, faculty and staff who have a valid UNLV RebelCard.

Access points and antennas have been installed throughout each library and should prove sufficient to meet the needs of wireless users wherever they are in the libraries.

Lied Library is also a hot spot for UNLV's guest network access. UNLV-Guest wireless is intended for use by UNLV guests, and not campus constituents with wireless accounts. Examples include but are not limited to conference attendees, alumni visiting campus, local news crews, and guest lecturers. UNLV-Guest has access to public Internet resources only. You can find out more about the guest wireless access here.

To get started using wireless simply follow the step-by-step instructions provided on the Getting Started page. The campus wireless website also provides a very useful FAQ as well as very important information on wireless security.
