Troubleshooting RefWorks and pop-up blockers
Pop-up blockers can interfere with the RefWorks direct export feature from many databases. Some browsers or toolbars may have more than one pop-up blocking tool installed.
If you use Internet Explorer and are having problems when you try to export citations to RefWorks, try these steps:
1) Disable the built-in pop-up blocker by choosing Pop-up Blocker from the Tools menu.

2. From the Tools menu, choose Internet Options and select the Privacy tab to confirm that "Block pop-ups" is unchecked and that your browser will accept all cookies.

3. If you have a third-party toolbar such as Yahoo! toolbar or Google toolbar or a pop-up blocker installed, try disabling it. Under Tools choose Manage Add-ons, then disable any add-ons that might be preventing RefWorks or a database from opening a new window.

4. If you use Google Toolbar and you prefer not to disable it entirely, you can turn off the pop-up blocking feature. Use the Options button on the right end of the toolbar to bring up the Toolbar Options dialogue box.

5. Some users have been able to configure pop-up blockers by adding both refworks.com and the domain of the database (such as epnet.com or proquest.umi.com) to the "allowed sites" list.
6. If Direct Export windows do not open in Ebsco databases, see the Ebsco Direct Export troubleshooting page.
