To find Media Items (Videos, DVDs, etc):
The Media Resources Collection can be accessed through the UNLV Library Catalog . The catalog provides KEYWORD, AUTHOR and TITLE searching to locate Media Resources Materials. In the list below we have compiled some tips for the more frequently-requested searches.
Access Media Resources Reserves:
From the main page of the
UNLV Library Catalog ...
- Find the Course Reserves link.
- To search by course name, select COURSE RESERVES: Course Name . Type in your course name or abbreviation with course number. Make sure to leave a space between the abbreviation and number.
- To search by professor, select COURSE RESERVES: Professor/Instructor Name . Type in professor/instructor's name last name first. If the professor/instructor has more than one reserve a list of course numbers will appear. Click on the appropriate course number.
- Look for citations with the location UNLV media reserves .
Limit catalog search to Media Resources Materials only:
You may search one of two ways:
- When searching by KEYWORD, select UNLV Media from the Location drop down menu (Or, if you have already completed a search: From the search results screen select the Limit/Sort Results button from the toolbar at the top of the screen)
- From the Limit/Sort screen select UNLV Media from the WHERE Item is Located drop down menu and submit search.
- Limit search to Videos (VHS, DVD, LASERDISC) only.
- From the main menu of the library catalog, select KEYWORD .
- After entering your keywords, space and type videorecording as one word.
- If you wish to limit your search to Lied Library Media Resources then select UNLV Media from the Location drop down menu. Then submit your search. This listing is not a complete listing.
Limit to Feature Films only:
This list will include foreign and domestic theatrical releases and TV movies.
- From the main menu of the CATALOG select SUBJECT .
- Enter the words feature films as your search. From your search results click on the Feature Films link at the top of the list.
If you wish to limit results to our collection select the Limit/Sort Results button from the tool bar at the top of the screen. From the
- WHERE Item is located dropdown select UNLV Media and submit search.
- To limit results to a particular country in the Limit/Sort Results screen, select the LANGUAGE dropdown. Select the language of your choice. This will give you a list of the Feature Films in a particular language. This listing is not a complete listing.
