 USGS: The National Map (http://nationalmap.gov/)
The National Map provides public access to high quality geospatial data and information. Users can download maps from U.S. Geodata and link to the Earth Science Information Center.

 Earth Explorer (http://edcsns17.cr.usgs.gov/EarthExplorer/)
Search engine for USGS products, including satellite images, aerial photographs, maps, and more. Enter as a guest or register. Select an area from a map, or enter coordinates or place name to search for available products.

 Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) (http://geonames.usgs.gov/index.html)
Database of names of "almost 2 million physical and cultural geographic features in the United States and its territories." Includes links to foreign place names, Antarctic names, and more.
