Two curriculum models have been adapted for use in the UNLV Faculty Institutes:

1. Integrated Course Design Model
2. 3P’s: Purpose, Product and Process

Integrated Course Design Model

• Developed by L. Dee Fink and described in Creating Significant Learning Experiences: an integrated approach to designing college courses.  San Francisco, Calif. : Jossey-Bass, 2003.
• Used for Institutes 2011, 2012 (2 Hotel College)

3P’s: Purpose, Product and Process

• Developed by Leora Baron, Wiggins & McTighe.  2005. Understanding by Design, Alexandria, VA : Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.
• Used for 2010 Research-Based Learning, portions used for 2012 K12 Institute
