"Dreaming the Skyline" is a digital collection of drawings, sketches and photographs that capture the history of resort architecture in Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe and Atlantic City–and its wider impact on the world. The collection highlights the work of two renowned Las Vegas architects: Martin Stern, who designed the Hilton International and the original MGM Grand, now Bally’s, and Homer Rissman, whose designs include the Flamingo towers and the original Circus Circus tent. "Dreaming the Skyline" provides easy online access to the rich architectural collections of UNLV Libraries Special Collections.

Most people think of an architect as a person who designs buildings. But, in reality, an architect can more accurately be described as someone who invents spaces where human beings can live better. Beyond designing the interior and exterior of a building, an architect is concerned with how our home, work and leisure environments enhance our overall quality of life. For students of the UNLV School of Architecture, mastering this discipline requires the understanding of human behavior, art, history, physics and engineering.
