If you have library books that go missing, be sure to touch base with the ASL staff. If they know you are trying to resolve the situation, it can prevent additional problems and headaches (such as being sent to a collection agency). 2-ply chipboard is great, 4-ply will break about 50 X-acto blades Basswood rules, balsa wood sucks. "Work smart, not hard." Work in studio (not at home): your classmates are great for advice, crits, inspiration, and supplies. Your best friends are those who can be brutally honest about your work. Get to know the professors in the UNLV School of Architecture Make sure you have a parking pass. Remember, asking for help is a strength, not a weakness. Supplies are most accessible at the UNLV Bookstore. Put your name on all your supplies--they tend to walk away. Secure ALL your library books! When it comes to technology (computers, printers, scanners), if it can go wrong it will, so expect the unexpected. See your advisor often and stay on track with your classes. Your assignment may seem irrelevant now, but stick with them because eventually you will realize that it is from these early projects that you learn the most.
