and Todd , Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Founded in 1963, WRT is an interdisciplinary planning and design
practice renowned for its innovative ideas and environmental
ethos. Muscoe's 17-year career reflects his commitment to environmentally
sensitive architecture. In addition to designing a number of
green buildings, Muscoe is actively engaged in organizations
that promote sustainable design. He is past chairman of the AIA
Committee on the Environment (COTE) and currently a director
of the Sustainable Buildings Industries Council (SBIC). Muscoe
chaired the recent U.S. Green Building Conference and Exposition
in Austin, Texas. He is a LEED 2.0 accredited professional and
a lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania's Department of
Architecture where he teaches a course entitled “The Ecology
of Architecture.”

Heinz serves as principal in charge of numerous BOORA projects,
ranging from more than 70 primary and secondary schools to numerous
government facilities. Heinz also is in charge of sustainable
architecture for the office and is frequently asked to speak
to organizations on daylighting, energy efficiency and green
design. Heinz studied architecture at the Baufachschule in Remscheid,
Germany, and he joined BOORA in 1962.

Arkin Tilt Architects is an award-winning firm specializing in
energy and resource efficient design. David Arkin, AIA, is the
current president of Architects, Designers, and Planners for Social
Responsibility (ADPSR), a founding member of the California Straw
Building Association (CASBA), and has taught and lectured on the
subject of sustainable design for over ten years. Anni Tilt co-founded
Arkin Tilt Architects in 1997 after successfully collaborating
on a number of projects, including their two children. She worked
as a designer and project manager for eight years with internationally
acclaimed Fernau and Hartman Architects of Berkeley.

Henry Siegel is founding principal of Siegel & Strain Architects.
He currently teaches in the School of Architecture at the University
of California, Berkeley. Larry Strain, principal, has a 25-year
background in sustainable design. In 1976 he co-founded The Solar
Center, one of the largest solar design and installation companies
in the Bay Area. He received his Master of Architecture degree
from the University of California Berkeley, where he is currently
teaching in the School of Architecture. Mr. Strain is the author
of the reSourceful Specifications guideline specifications
for environmentally considered building materials and construction
methods.

Craig Curtis, whose firm is based out of Seattle, Washington, has
received over 120 national, regional, and local design awards. Miller|Hull
recently received the 2003 Architecture Firm Award—a national honor
bestowed by the AIA. It is the highest award the AIA gives to an architectural
firm, and is awarded to firms that produce distinguished designs for
at least 10 years.

The Architecture Studies Library is hosting a reception and "Sustaining
Nevada" Lecture Series presentation lecture by Andrew Freear
on February 11, 2004. Freear, Co-Director and Associate Professor
Rural Studio, Newbern Campus will be speaking about the Rural Studio
program. Rural Studio seeks solutions to the needs of the community
within the community's own context, not from outside it. The reception
begins at 6:00 p.m., with the lecture following at 7:00 p.m. at the
Architecture Studies Library. The "Sustaining Nevada" Lecture
Series presentations are free and open to all who wish to attend.

Victor Olgyay has been the director of research at the University
of Hawaii School of Architecture. Currently, he is the Vice President
and Architect with experience in various environmentally sustainable
projects focusing on design, material selection, daylighting, lighting
and energy efficiency, as well as site and landscape planning.
