| Description: | he historic 1950s era high school campus, set in the heart of Boulder City, is a significant community focal point for residents. The mission clearly defined as a multi-phased expansion to take place while school was in session, creating the least possible impact on the learning environment and allowing the student popluation, as well as the entire community, to observe the renovation. The primary goal of the plan was to develop a school setting sympathetic to the local environment and existing 1950’s architecture and to be organized as a replacement overtime. The design has borrowed elements from the original architecture as a model for the sports complex expansion, library resource center and technology center. The renovation focuses on improving the learning environment for the students, relative to both climate and educational programming. The upgrades and adaptive re-use of the library, gymnasium and technology center use modern building materials and will bring a higher level of technology to the school while maintaining the overall campus design integrity. The modernization projects at Boulder City High School included architectural finish work, HVAC upgrades, lighting upgrades, electrical system upgrades, installation of a local area network (LAN), life safety system and security system, and asbestos abatement. |
