| Description: | The design creates a resolution to the varying components of the client’s program under a single roof. A personal living and entertainment zone with removed guest suites. The 1 st volume, an open 2 story space, interweaves both public and private functions of the client; a single man in his 30’s. This space is expanded into the exterior courtyard to increase opportunities for entertaining. “Exterior rooms” are created in the landscape by screen walls, elevated patios, recessed turf play and a pool to form a seamless indoor/outdoor entertaining connection. The 2 nd volume houses individual guest suites and a public deck overlooking distant views to the valley and Las Vegas Strip. Materials are derived from the nearby black mountains and landscape. Design encourages indoor/outdoor living, natural light and cross ventilation. |
