Architecture By Five was a group established in the late 1960s/early 1970s to complete a number of public sector projects in the state of Nevada. The group, comprised of Jack Miller, AIA; Robert Fielden, FAIA; Walter Zick, AIA; Harris Sharp, AIA; and Thomas Turner, P.E., would collaborate on projects that were too large (deemed so by either the county or by themselves) for their individual firms to handle. Architecture By Five completed projects such as the Clark County Juvenile Courts, the Southern Nevada Correction Center in Jean, Nevada, and the Las Vegas Sports Stadium. Jack Miller and Robert Fielden (both of Jack Miller & Associates) and Harris Sharp and Walter Zick (both of Zick & Sharp Architects) would comprise the design team. Jack Miller & Associates would concentrate on the design aspect of the job and Zick & Sharp would focus on the construction documents and administration. If either firm felt that they could handle a job on their own, they remained separate entities. |
