Notes & References: Meyer, Scherer & Rockcastle, Ltd., (MS&R) is a Minnesota corporation founded in 1981 by Thomas Meyer, AIA, Jeffrey Scherer, FAIA, and Garth Rockcastle, FAIA. In addition to the three founding principals, Jack Poling, AIA, serves as the firm?s managing principal.

The firm employs fifty individuals in its main office in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Garth Rockcastle?Dean of the School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation at the University of Maryland?leads the MS&R design studio in Hyattsville, Maryland.

Specializing in architecture and interior design, MS&R has a reputation for creating exceptional and enduring renewable design for a diverse mix of building types. The firm works both locally and nationally. Notable projects include the Mill City Museum in Minneapolis (winner of a 2005 American Institute of Architects Honor Award); the adaptive reuse of a former grocery store into Denton Public Library? new North Branch in Denton, Texas (winner of a 2005 AIA Minnesota Honor Award); the new Blair Library in Fayetteville, Arkansas (named the 2005 Thomson Gale/Library Journal Library of the Year); and Urban Outfitters Corporate Headquarters in Philadelphia?s historic Navy Yard.
