The AIA Nevada Distinguished Service Awards are presented yearly to the individuals and organizations whose efforts and contributions benefit the community and further the profession.

The jurors for the 2005 AIA Nevada Distinguished Service Awards were Steven Crane, FAIA, Richard Haas, AIA, Karl Berg, FAIA

There were 11 Distinguished Service Award submittals in 2005, for which binders with submittal information are available in the ASL Special Collections. Six individuals/firms received awards:

AIA Nevada Young Architect Citation - Mike Purtill, AIA

In 2005, Dale Sheideman was also awarded the Western Mountain Region Silver Medal Award. A binder with submittal information is also available in the ASL Special Collections.

The AIA Nevada Excellence in Design Awards are presented yearly to individuals and firms in recognition for outstanding design work. The type and number of awards earned were determined by jury and include Honor Awards, Merit Awards and Citation Awards (Honor being the most distinguished).

The jurors for the 2005 AIA Nevada Excellence in Design Awards were: David Daniel, AIA; David Paul Brems, AIA and Lawrence Scarpa, AIA.

In 2005, 69 project submittals were accepted, of these 9 projects received the AIA Nevada Excellence in Design Award in the following categories: Built, Unbuilt, Interior Environment, Open Category and Academic. The 9 projects which received awards were:

In 2005, 69 projects were submitted in four categories: Built, Unbuilt, Interior Environment, Open Category and Academic. AIA Nevada Excellence in Design Awards were granted to 9 of these projects at three levels: Honor, Merit, and Citation.
