Statement of Design Approach: Design as a container for “Museum Quality Objects of Furniture” Clean modernist lines reflecting the lines of the objects.
Narrative: Container or “the” object of design. Putting aside any pre conceived design exuberance, the design of unicaHOME’s new showroom places the importance on the furniture, many of which could be “objects of art” within themselves. Instead, the furniture is placed upon simple platforms to elevate their visibility within the showroom much like objects within a museum. Walls are used as backdrops with design graphics. These graphics are placed within the showroom as paintings in one’s home. Polycarbonate panels surround the lighting studio enable the glow to fill the space. The design is straight forward, with an emphasis on clean modern lines embellished with great modern furniture… simple and to the point.
