Design Approach/Narrative: This design departs from the traditional u-shaped desert courtyard homes by dividing the design into 2 components linked through a common elevated court. You are drawn over the site by a bridge leading to the elevated court, which serves as the exterior living room for the owners. The split of the design in 2 parts creates a main house - living, master suite and guest suite and a guest house (reserved for children away at college-hoping they return) family room office and bedrooms.
