Design Approach/Narrative: Dubbed the "Iinverted Economic Suburan Sombrero" the curved roofs are economically achieved through use of standard trusses shifted to facilitate the split levels and natural light clerestory. Simple loops of glu-lam beams span from tower to tower supporting the exposed roof trusses. By re-introducing the home's living area to the street it was hoped to enhance the 'front port' concept. Public and private programmatic zoning is acchieved through a split level design.
