Design approach/Narrative: Located at the MGM GRAND HOTEL & CASINO in Las Vegas, The Joël Robuchon at The Mansion Restaurant and its adjacent sister restaurant L’atelier De Joël Robuchon are the latest offerings of Haute Cuisine from the French celebrity chef. Transforming the restaurants was no easy task. However, their locations between the existing high limit gaming and Critique Du Soleil’s Ka Theater allow for a wonderful façade opportunity. In keeping with the Chef’s request, L’atelier De Joel Robuchon boasts a modern, clean & sophisticated design, while Joel Robuchon at The Mansion Restaurant is designed as a more intimate space reminiscent of a 1930’s French Residence. This Juxtaposition is continued throughout the 9,000 plus square feet. The restaurant mimics the feel of Paris, where the L’atelier engages a more minimal aesthetic.
